Take the 360° TourCanalside Quarter
An area packed with history and a past industrial heritage, the canal basin to the north east of central Wolverhampton has been an untapped hidden gem for many years.
Over the next few years it will be transformed into the Canalside Quarter, utilising it's unique character to provide both desirable city centre living and a destination for visitors with shops, walkways, cycle paths and leisure facilities.
Forming a key element of the area is the Springfield campus (formerly Springfield Brewery) which is home to the new £65 million West Midlands Construction University Technical College – a centre of excellence for encouraging young people to develop skills in the construction industry.
Work has begun on assessing the zones within the Canalside Quarter area to pave the way for the construction of new homes. That all comes on top of around 900 homes and student accommodation that have been developed across three sites since 2008. In time, the Canalside Quarter is expected to grow to in excess of 600 new homes as it establishes itself as a vibrant residential and leisure area for the city.
